Mark will be using a combination of singing bowls, indigenous flutes, hand drums, shakers and ambient keyboards to accompany a calming and healing Restorative Yoga practice together to create an evening of quiet contemplation. He will also lead us into a guided meditation into savasana.
Restorative Yoga poses are designed for constructive rest and relaxation. They are fully supported by props and held for time to fully relax the body and promote healing. This is a practice for everyBODY.
November 15, 2016 – DE-STRESS, RELEASE & RELAX ~Join Unity Yoga & Wellness and Mark Biehl, A Certified Sound Therapy Practitioner, this full moon for a tranquil journey of a Yin Yoga Practice and Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation ~ No previous Yoga or Meditation experience necessary.
Science confirms that sound can directly affect mood, brain waves, the nervous system and body chemistry. The vibrational sound of the singings bowls, also refered to as Healing Bowls, stimulate the body to help produce the alpha waves that are present in the brain during deep relaxation.
Yin refers to the restful energy inherent within us. Contained within our bodies are a myraid of knots, tensions, spaciousness and energy, all of which corresspond in tangible ways with our phyiscal and emotional state of being. Yin yoga opens the body through gentle held postures with the support of props to allow not only for a deep physical shift but also for powerful mental and emotional releases, realignment and trasformation. This practice will help you feel calm and rejuvenated.
